The Beauty of
Rangoli
Rangoli, also known by names like Kolam, Muggulu, and Alpana, are traditional Indian doorstep or courtyard art forms made with symmetrical, geometric designs. Starting from a central dot, these vibrant patterns expand outward and are often created with rice flour, sand, or chalk. In South India, they're drawn daily at dawn, while in other regions, they're reserved for festive occasions like Diwali, weddings, and birthdays. Believed to invite prosperity—especially Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali—Rangoli blends creativity, nature-inspired themes, and physical movement, nurturing both artistic and mathematical skills.
